History

ABJ OfficeIn August 2001, Alan Strause and Bruce Raymond formed ABJ Equipment, LLC. Both men were formerly employed with Stein, Inc. of Sandusky, Ohio prior to creating ABJ. Bruce spent over 15 years with Stein as a technical service engineer. His vast knowledge of the equipment and standard operating practices has earned him great respect over the years in the industry. Alan spent over 15 years with Stein as a skilled machine builder. With the many years of hands on experience this has lead Alan to a new level that has made him a very succesful service expert.

Both men had a vision, a cost effective way to save money on remanufactured food processing equipment. They both took notice of the growing quantities of used machinery throughout the nation. This machinery just sat in bone yards, wasting away. So why not make use of this large quantity of equipment and create a business that would save money? This would provide the food processing industry the option to buy remanufactured equipment for less money than new.

In their beginning, both men were the sole employees of ABJ. With their dedicated efforts and continual drive, ABJ has now grown to 30 employees within several departments. ABJ has its’ own engineering and design staff, service technicians, parts department and machine builders.
